About us

Even during a pandemic, other disasters don’t stop — and neither does the work of the Red Cross.

Our brave staff and volunteers are still responding to disasters like home fires, tornadoes and earthquakes, so impacted families receive help and hope — even during these trying times — as well as collecting needed blood. By donating your miles, you help the American Red Cross continue to deliver its lifesaving mission nationwide during this public health emergency, providing critical relief services to people affected by disasters big and small.

Promotional Period: Campaign Match, May 8 - May 31, 2024 - terms and conditions:

1. You must be a MileagePlus® member before donating to participate. To join MileagePlus for free, go to united.com

2. Donations must be made by MileagePlus members at donate.mileageplus.com and must be a minimum of 1,000 miles.

3. United will match up to 20,000,000 miles of MileagePlus members donations across active charity campaigns. The match includes a 1,000,000-mile match for each featured partner and up to a 250,000-mile match for all other active charity campaigns for donations made between 12:00 AM Central time, May 8, 2024, and 11:59 PM Central time on May 31, 2024.

2. Donations must be made by MileagePlus members at donate.mileageplus.com and must be a minimum of 1,000 miles.
3. United will match MileagePlus member donations made between 12:00 AM Central time, January 1, 2024, and 11:59 PM Central time on December 31, 2024, up to 50,000 miles per eligible charity campaign and up to a total match across all eligible charities of ten million miles.
