Give A Mile - a final goodbye this Mother's and Father's Day

This Mother's and Father's Day, Give A Mile is committed to raising 1.5 million United MileagePlus miles to help connect 25 people with flights to be with their loved ones for a final goodbye.

As Mother’s Day and Father’s Day approaches, we recognize the importance of family and the profound impact on our lives. When families face the end of life, those moments become all the more important. With the rising cost of living, often flights to make those connections possible are even further out of reach.

That is where Give A Mile comes in. We believe that everyone deserves to have their loved ones by their side at the end of life, and our organization works tirelessly to make that a reality. By providing flights, we are able to give families the precious gift of time. But we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re asking for your help. By donating today, you can provide those moments.

Please consider a gift to Give A Mile in honor of your parents to help us give back to the people who gave us everything. We may be grown up now, but we'll always be our parents' children.

About us

Established in 2013, Give a Mile was inspired by the passing of Ryan Westerman, a young Calgary father who died from brain cancer. In the weeks leading up to his passing, Ryan was surrounded by friends and family and had the opportunity to create moments and make memories that would live on past his final days. His best friend, Kevin Crowe, was grateful for the opportunity he and others had to spend time with Ryan near the end and found their own lives transformed by the experience. Kevin also observed that not everyone receiving hospice care had the same experience. He sadly noted that many of the patients died alone because family and friends were located too far away to make a visit feasible. That experience inspired him to create Give A Mile. Give A Mile is a registered non-profit organization in both the United States and Canada, and to date has proudly funded nearly 1,000 flights of compassion, impacting thousands of people in 151 countries.
