We send dedicated medical teams to countries like Paraguay and Honduras, where they perform life-saving heart surgeries for small children who would otherwise face bleak prospects. Many of these families lack access to the critical treatment their children need. Every fundraising effort we undertake is vital. The funds we raise help cover essential expenses such as flights for our doctors and nurses, and also support the training of local medical professionals through international rotations. About us
Surgeons of Hope helps children in Latin America who have congenital heart defects receive the health care they need, no matter their economic situation or where they live. We work to strenghten local heart care programs in hospitals that partner with us. This way, every child can get the care they deserve, just like children in developed countries. Our mission is to support local public heart centers to improve their programs for treating children with congenital heart defects until they can manage independently. We organize surgical missions, train doctors and nurses, and provide operational support. Together with our partners, we aim to reduce death rates, improve surgical results, and increase the number of children receiving care.
