Surgery Gone Wrong - Ruth's Flight to New Hopes

SURGERY GONE WRONG: Ruth had been dealing with extreme neck pain for most of her life. She went to see a surgeon who could operate on her neck and relieve the pain. Unfortunately, the operation didn’t turn out as planned. “That doctor wrecked my neck during surgery,” said Ruth. TRYING EVERY REMEDY: After the operation went wrong, Ruth realized she would need corrective surgery. In the meantime, she tried multiple remedies to at least relieve the pain and not make her problem worse. She would take medicine, apply ointments, and even sleep in a recliner instead of bed. Despite all her efforts, she only got about three hours of sleep each night. FROM UPHILL SLOPES...: It soon became clear that nothing was working to make Ruth feel better. She couldn’t keep trying to treat the symptoms without addressing the root cause. She needed to fly to Mayo Clinic, where a specialist could perform corrective surgery. Her road to healing had been rough from the beginning. But now she faced uphill slopes. She didn’t have the funds to fly to and from Mayo Clinic. Driving was “physically impossible,” in Ruth’s words, as she was unable to lift her head. How was Ruth supposed to live her life again? ...TO NEW HOPES: In desperate times, people may pray for angels to lift them above their troubles. Ruth’s prayers were answered – Mercy Medical Angels! Mercy Medical Angels arranged charitable flights on United Airlines. Ruth’s case was complicated, and she needed multiple charitable flights to Mayo Clinic over the years. Each time, Mercy Medical Angels and United Airlines came through for her. She now has new hopes for the future – a future where she can live without pain. “I TRULY THANK YOU...”: Ruth is now back home, recovering from the corrective surgeries. Her journey’s not over yet. But now she knows she doesn’t have to fly solo. Mercy Medical Angels and United Airlines will continue to help her until she’s all better.
