Born from tragedy and driven by hope, All Hands & Hearts (AH&H) helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. Our story began in 2004, when model and philanthropist Petra Nemcová was swept away by the Indian Ocean tsunami in Thailand. With a shattered pelvis, she clung to a palm tree for eight hours, listening helplessly as the cries of children faded around her. Out of that life-altering experience came a deep commitment to help others rebuild after disaster — a promise that grew into AH&H. Since then, we’ve worked around the world to lessen the physical and emotional impact of climate disasters and humanitarian crises. Through direct action, accessible volunteer engagement, and strong local partnerships, our teams respond rapidly, stay through recovery, and help communities build long-term resilience. We believe recovery means more than rebuilding homes — it’s about restoring stability, dignity, and hope. By working hand in hand with communities, we ensure families return home and children return to school, stronger and safer than before. Learn more at allhandsandhearts.org
