ProjectCamp

About us

Project:Camp is a disaster response organization that pops up free, trauma-informed day camps for children in the immediate aftermath of U.S. disasters. These camps offer safe, supportive spaces where children can begin to process their experiences through structured play, creativity, and community. We typically deploy within 48 hours of an emergency, serving as a vital stopgap when schools and childcare services are disrupted. Since 2018, Project:Camp has provided more than 40,000 hours of free trauma-informed care to children affected by disasters. We’ve responded to crises across the country, including Hurricane Ian in Florida (2022), the Maui wildfires (2023), Hurricane Helene in North Carolina (2024), and the Los Angeles wildfires (2025).
